It is the world’s first capsule hotel, built in 1979.
Located about 10 minutes from Osaka Station.
The building was renovated in 2025.
Everything is clean.
But the capsule itself is still from 1979.
Capsule & Sleep
There are several room types.
Deluxe capsules, semi-private rooms, and even private rooms.
I stayed in the original 1979 capsule (cheapest option).
The capsule is small.
You can lie down, but you cannot stand.
The bed is firm.
The pillow is also firm.
The blanket is thin.
On your back, your body feels stable.
On your side, your shoulder feels some pressure.
You can stretch your legs.
But you cannot move much.
The ceiling is close.
Your head touches it when you sit.
There is a curtain, not a door.
So you get privacy for your eyes, but not for sound.
I could stay in bed for about 5–6 hours.
Turning over is possible, but limited.
Facilities
The inside is clean because of the renovation.
There is a large public bath and sauna.
Towels, shampoo, toothbrush, and razors are free.
However, people with tattoos cannot use the bath.
There is a small private shower on the capsule floor.
There are many lockers.
It may take time to find yours.
Noise & Environment
This is important.
You will hear:
- Snoring
- Teeth grinding
- Phone alarms (some people do not stop them quickly)
If you are sensitive to sound, bring earplugs.
Location
About 10 minutes from Osaka Station.
Flat and easy walk.
There are many restaurants nearby.
There is also a restaurant inside the hotel.
Luggage
Lockers are narrow.
Large suitcases cannot fit.
You need to leave them at the front desk.
