A Budget Alternative to the Shinkansen
There are several ways to travel from Osaka to Hiroshima.
Most people take the Shinkansen. It takes about 1.5 hours.
This time, I chose a daytime highway bus instead.
In short, the choice comes down to one thing:
time or cost.

Departure from JR Osaka Station
The bus departs from the JR Highway Bus Terminal at Osaka Station.
The terminal is easy to find, and the signs are clear.
Boarding was smooth, and the bus left exactly on time.
The trip started quietly from there.
The 3-Row Seat Layout Is Surprisingly Comfortable
This bus has a 3-row seating layout.
That means:
- More legroom
- Wider seats
- More personal space
Compared with typical 4-row buses, the difference is clear.
For a 5.5-hour ride, this extra space really matters.
Three Rest Stops Along the Way
The bus stops three times during the trip:

The distance between Osaka and Hiroshima is about 330 km.
